Daniel Rozin
Wooden Mirror
1999
Daniel Rozin's Wooden Mirror uses the concept of an electronic mirror. The cameras between the blocks capture the images before it and evaluate them in grey-scale. Each of the mirror blocks then rotate vertically and 835 (according to the video below) servo motors control the angle of each one to reflects different amount of light, therefore creating the image. This would also depend on the environment that the mirror is displayed in, as the lights above are aimed steeply downwards in order to optimise contrast. This is yet another example of live artwork and methodical consideration.
